Switzerland and England (39 tons per hectare), and the USA (36 tons per hectare) have the largest yields respectively. The world potato product in 1995 was 280679000 tons. 51.5 percent of the total potato produced in the world belongs to the European countries, 39.9 percent to the Asian countries, 2.6 percent to the African countries and 0.5 percent to the countries in Oceania.
